I’ve had fun watching movies and concerts on the projector in the back yard, but last night’s ALDS Game 5 between the Yankees and Rays might’ve been the best viewing party we’ve had. My neighbors brought their own home-made brew, friends came through for a socially distanced good time, and baseball was thoroughly enjoyable.
To that end, I’ve had plenty of people ask about what I’m using to make the magic happen. This projector (via Amazon) and tripod (also via Amazon) is all I needed. Bonus points if you shop Amazon via BN. 😉
• TB12 thought he was gonna sneak one past DHC. SMH:

• In re-watching this play, it’s wild that Tom Brady even attempted this pass. Even if Brady thought he had another down to play with, he threw to a well-covered tight end who had to play defensive back in order to break up the pass. Cameron Brate was never open because DeAndre Houston-Carson played that route perfectly from the jump. Chicago’s defensive backs coaches should be proud of the textbook coverage on display.
• Houston-Carson could be in for an up-tick in playing time after that game-saving play. If Deon Bush and Sherrick McManis continue to be sidelined due to injuries, DHC is the next man up in the secondary. This could prove to be an important time for the 2016 sixth-round pick. I hope he makes the most of it.
• Cairo Santos gets the love for making a pair of fourth-quarter field goals to secure the win, but shout out to long-snapper Patrick Scales and punter/holder Pat O’Donnell for doing their jobs perfectly on those kicks. Special teams can be a thankless job at times, so it’s only right to share the love when it’s deserved.

• And kudos to O’Donnell for pinning 3 of 5 punts inside-the-20. The Bucs’ possessions after being pinned inside the 20 resulted in a punt, field goal, punt. So props to the Bears defense for making those kicks hold up.
• Cordarrelle Patterson leads the NFL in kick return yards (468) and is third in yards per return (31.2). Maybe his aggressive nature in returning kicks from deep in his own end zone can be viewed as a sign of distrust in the offense. Or maybe he just likes running free and making big plays happen. Teams will have to adjust to Patterson’s excellence or risk losing the field-position battle. In any case, the Patterson signing has been helpful because of his many special teams contributions. Maybe we should get #Extend84 trending on Twitter?
• Wait … what?
Khalil Mack's PFF grade for yesterday's game was 76.8. According to PFF, it was Mack's worst game of the season.
No comment necessary on my part.

• Look, I thought I buried the hatchet between PFF and Bears Twitter. HOWEVER … I don’t understand how Mack’s grade from Sunday could have been a season-worst considering what he brought to the table. ICYMI, Mack’s stat line featured 2 sacks, 2 tackles-for-loss, 3 QB Hits, 6 pressures, and 1 pass defended. Mack did everything you’d want for him to do in a primetime game. What’s left?
• A round-up of positive post-game vibes, via Nathan Smith of the Chicago Bears’ official website.
• Let Monty cook:
Two games without Tarik Cohen, and the Bears have adjusted with more David Montgomery on the field and in the passing game. No notable change in usage for Patterson/Nall.
Weeks 1-3: Montgomery played 51.9% of snaps and had 9 catches
Weeks 4-5? 83.2% of snaps and 14 receptions

• Bummer: It sounds like starting left guard James Daniels is out for the year with a torn pectoral muscle.
• Yep:
Still enjoying thinking about this. https://t.co/Tfwt8uWg16

• At Eli’s insistence, I’ll have my eyes on Florida QB Kyle Trask:
Kyle Trask has thrown an SEC-leading 10 touchdown passes over his first two games of 2020.
That figure is the third-most TD passes by a quarterback through his team’s first two games in SEC history. pic.twitter.com/y8YzQN4keK

• Florida quarterbacks have hurt me in the past. Shane Matthews and Rex Grossman come to mind. Maybe Trask is different? Or perhaps he’s the latest in a line of heartbreakers. Then again, my favorite college quarterback is tearing it up as a true sophomore at North Carolina.
