If you blinked, then you probably missed the Terry Beckner Jr. era in Chicago.
Beckner was one of the defensive linemen who came through Halas Hall when nose tackle John Jenkins was on Injured Reserve. But with Jenkins back in the fold, the never-ending roster churn continued:
#Bears have released DL Terry Beckner from the practice squad.

Removing Beckner from the practice squad opens some up a spot for the Bears to use in any number of ways.
They could snag an offensive lineman off the street. Remember, the team recently promoted Sam Mustipher after James Daniels went on season-ending IR. Chicago could also look to add some speed and a possible punt return threat, given the failed Ted Ginn Jr. experiment. And because we still know nothing about Eddy Piñeiro’s progress, it’s conceivable that the Bears could target their emergency kicking option with an open practice squad spot.
In any case, it feels as if someone is on their way to Chicago.
