Nothing like some internal trade deadline drama to spice things up in the middle of the afternoon.
The Green Bay Packers reportedly have an interest in Houston Texans receiver Will Fuller. And while the Texans are open to dealing, the Packers seem to be bluffing at the asking price:

I’m told the Green Bay Packers have discussed trading for Texans' receiver Will Fuller. However, there's been a disagreement in Green Bay at the highest levels of the organization over whether or not adding an elite receiver in the short term would be worth the spend.

It’s a classic battle between an aggressive, new school thinker at the GM spot going up against a deeply rooted old school kind of guard in Green Bay. I’m not rooting for it, but the Packers sure could use someone with Fuller’s skills opposite of Davante Adams. However, it’s evident that there is a divide between those in the Packers who would want to add a short-term player to the mix and those who don’t. And for the cost of doing business, it’s a fair (and healthy) debate to have.
Fuller is a supremely talented receiver. He has 31 catches, 490 receiving yards, and 5 touchdowns in seven games. The 26-year-old pass-catcher is on pace for a 71-reception, 1,120-yard, 11-touchdown season. But he is also set to become a free agent at year’s end, and it is uncertain if the Texans will extend him. Hence, their desire to trade him for a pick that is better than what they would get as a compensatory selection that would come in 2022 if he were to walk away in free agency.
The trade deadline is at 3 p.m. central. And while no ideal between the two sides is imminent, there’s obviously some smoke and fire here.
