The Lions announced they placed quarterback Matthew Stafford on the reserve/COVID-19 list. As a reminder, the list is for players who test positive for COVID-19, are quarantining with someone who tested positive, or in close contact with a person who came up with a positive exposure. Either way, Stafford begins his second stint on the reserve list.
When Stafford was placed on the list in August, his stay was just three days because of a reported false-positive. Detroit’s proactive measure was a good thing at the time. We’ll see what comes of this positive test in due time. In the meantime, the Lions play a Vikings team looking to win consecutive games and thrust itself into the playoff picture. Thus, the added importance of monitoring Stafford’s health.
