Khalil Mack is on a heater.
With at least one sack in each of his last four games, the fearsome Bears pass-rusher holds the NFL’s longest active sack streak. That’s pretty impressive, so let’s take a moment to re-live the awesomeness.

KHALIL MACK WILL SACK YOUR QUARTERBACK.
Mack has five sacks in his last four games. Impressive, to say the least. But I’m not sure it grasps the totality of Mack’s awesomeness. He is wrecking games by bulldozing quarterbacks, and smashing blockers by using them against their own teammates. That’s pretty awesome, too. This is the stuff we expect to see from a player you trade loads of draft capital to acquire.
So how awesome has Mack been? Let’s project his stats from this stretch over a full 16-game season. If we did that, we’d see that Mack is playing at a pace where he’d collect 20 sacks, 24 tackles-for-loss, and 20 quarterback hits.
That would undoubtedly put him in Defensive Player of the Year conversations and possibly some down-ballot MVP chatter.
As things stand, Mack is on pace for 13 sacks, 16 tackles-for-loss, and 18 quarterback hits. That should give him some real consideration for the award, too. Should he win it, then I would think it would bode well for the Bears’ playoff chances.
