Mitchell Trubisky took a trip to Los Angeles and brought home some good news.
Trubisky, who visited Dr. Neal ElAttrache regarding his shoulder injury from Sunday, was on the receiving end of an encouraging report:
Bears’ QB Mitchell Trubisky visited Dr. ElAttrache in Los Angeles Thursday afternoon for further evaluation on his right shoulder and it was determined surgery is not needed – he will continue rehab in Chicago with the team and is considered week to week, per source.

This was Trubisky’s third shoulder injury since 2018, and second to this shoulder. Surgery was not off the table when he traveled to see Dr. ElAttrache, so news that surgery isn’t needed is a best-case scenario. As is the report that Trubisky is “week to week.” Because although Trubisky will likely be sidelined for the short term, this injury won’t keep him out for the year.
In the meantime, the Bears hosted quarterbacks Kyle Sloter and Jake Rudock for visits. And while neither is expected to sign in time to join the team on Sunday, it’s good to know Chicago’s backup plans as a point of reference.
