Riley Ridley entered the league with plenty of promise. He was a fourth-round pick from a college football powerhouse who some prospect gurus believed could have (should have?) gone earlier in the 2019 NFL Draft. But to this point of his career, Ridley hasn’t shown it. Heck, he hasn’t even been on the active game day roster to show what he can do this year.
That is, until now.
Ridley is ACTIVE for today’s Bears-Titans game. This marks the first time Riley hasn’t been on the inactives list for game day. But with the Bears releasing Ted Ginn Jr. earlier in the week and Javon Wims serving the first game of a two-game suspension, it only makes sense that Ridley would get a chance to suit up. Receivers Coach Mike Furrey was high on Ridley coming into this year, insinuating the second-year Georgia product was on the cusp of a breakout season. That clearly hasn’t happened yet. But with the situation being what it is, perhaps Ridley get a chance to back up his coach’s words.
