The term “warrior” is overused in the sports world, but it’s a word that I feel best describes Akiem Hicks.
Hicks plays with effort, passion, swag, and excellence on every snap. No matter the down and distance, score, or game situation, Hicks gives you everything he has to offer. Even when he’s banged up, Hicks balls out. Which is how we should know that this hamstring injury is serious enough to keep him out of action.
Hicks is among the Bears’ inactives for tonight’s game against the Packers. Here are the rest:

Other notable inactives include quarterback Nick Foles, who was doubtful to play tonight because of his hip/glute injuries. Foles’ absence leaves Mitchell Trubisky and Tyler Bray as the only active quarterbacks against the Packers.
Wide receiver Javon Wims is also inactive. This would have been the first game Wims would’ve been eligible to play in since his suspension. I’m curious to know if this is additional punishment for the Bears or a decision based on personnel matchups.
Special teams ace/nickel defender Sherrick McManis is also unavailable tonight. Hopefully, special teams play isn’t the difference between winning and losing in prime-time.
We’ll have more for you momentarily in Pre-Gamin’.
