An unbelievable moment in Texas high school football, which is a pretty substantial statement in its own right – it takes a lot for something to really stand out in Texas high school football.
Edinburg High School in South Texas saw its star defensive player Emmanuel Duron was ejected from the game, and responded by running onto the field to attack the referee who’d just ejected him. It was ugly:
Really really ugly moment here in Edinburg
Idk what happened but Emmanuel Duron was ejected from the game
Moments later, he ran onto the field and body slammed the ref who ejected him

Here's that moment… just awful and disappointing https://t.co/XXpkJ66ePy

Duron is apparently not only the best player on his team, but one of the best players in his area, and also handles kicks and punts for the team. McCullough added that Duron is also a top wrestler.
After the body slam, the player was then escorted from the stadium by police. You can presume he won’t be playing another game after something unthinkable like that. You want to have some grace for a kid who acts rashly like that in the moment, but this was so over-the-top and the ref was seriously injured. Can’t have this stuff on the football field.
