All right. We have to at least acknowledge the INCREASING swirl of Russell Wilson rumors tied specifically to some sportsbooks modifying their Bears odds for 2021, and others apparently flat-out taking down Wilson-next-team odds.
THIS DOES NOT MEAN there’s inside info out there or that something is definitely happening soon. It just means that, apparently, at a minimum, the books wanted to protect themselves. It certainly hints that there’s known information out there circling behind the scenes – there’s definitely smoke – but you can’t take this as more than what it is.
Here’s some of what you’re seeing out there:
We saw sportsbooks take down Russell Wilson "next team" betting odds yesterday. Books also shortened the Bears future odds to win the division, conference and title.
One bookmaker just told me:
"I’ve done a full 180. I’m all aboard the Russ to Chicago hype train."
Oh snap.

For what it’s worth, it appears Bet Rivers has taken down their futures bet for Russell Wilson. #Bears pic.twitter.com/6gQ7r3pIgb

To be clear, not all of them have removed them, and that doesn’t mean that something is going to happen — but it’s noteworthy.

I tend to regard this stuff as a good reason for me to be paying even closer attention, rather than a clear signal of anything going down. But obviously with the new league year and free agency coming next week, things might HAVE to move soon anyway …
