Akiem Hicks’ time on the trade block appears to be short-lived.
A core member seems likely to be back in blue and orange for this year:
Sources who said Akiem Hicks was available are now indicating he's likely back with the #Bears. They have a major hole to fill at CB but would keep the front 7 of the defense in place. Certainly has been a fluid start to the new league year for the team.

Ah, finally. Some good news to share from this goshforsaken week.
Brad Biggs of the Tribune tweets that sources who indicated Hicks was available to seek a trade elsewhere is now saying the defensive lineman is “likely back” for another season. Hicks was reportedly given permission to seek a trade earlier in the week. Whether there wasn’t much interest on the block or he wasn’t intrigued by what he was hearing isn’t clear. But in any case, things are lining up for Hicks to be back in 2021.
With Kyle Fuller out the door, I don’t think Bears fans could’ve taken watching another popular and talented member of the defense leave. And that’s saying nothing of a defense that leans on him in the trenches or a locker room that views him as a leader. Yes, I realize Hicks wasn’t at his best in 2020. And I understand he is on the “wrong” side of 30. Oh .. and don’t think I don’t know that Hicks has just one year left on his contract. But dang … I felt a real sense of relief seeing Biggs’ tweet suggesting Hicks would be back for 2021.
