In addition to being an excellent return specialist, Cordarrelle Patterson carved out a niche as a fan favorite. Because, between being special in the return game and having the energy to be a lead-recruiter, what wasn’t there to love?

… stings just a bit.
NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo tweets Patterson is visiting the Falcons. Additionally, it sounds as if he’ll have a deal with Atlanta as his new team in short order if the meeting goes well. Based on Patterson’s tweet, it seems as if that will be the case. And if that’s how it turns out, Patterson will join former Bears offensive coaches Dave Ragone and Charles London in taking their talents to Atlanta.
The Bears brought in Patterson on a two-year deal in 2019. And while he never found footing as an offensive contributor in the same way he was used while with the Patriots, Patterson was a top-flight performer as a kick returner and as a special teams gunner. Patterson earned first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in each of his two seasons with the Bears. And for what it’s worth, we’ll have fond memories of his kick return touchdowns:

So … how ’bout them Bears? Well, they won’t be of Patterson’s concern for much longer.
