While the NFL Draft is playing out with its own craziness, we’re now also on high-alert for an Aaron Rodgers trade. Word broke just hours ago that Rodgers flat out does not want to return to the Green Bay Packers, and now there are serious trade rumors swirling. The timing, paired with the draft, is of course not a coincidence.
The latest has the Broncos and Packers possibly getting together on a deal, and although we don’t want to go too crazy with the language here, it’s wild that it’s all happening so fast and so specific:
Mark Schlereth just reported on @1043TheFan that a deal for the Broncos to land Aaron Rodgers is “as close to a done deal as it can get”

At least regarding Denver, I'm told one of Aaron Rodgers' attractions to the #Broncos has been the sense of 'freedom' he'd feel with the offense with Elway in the building, per source. #Packers clearly have many things to think over. Give in, or not? We'll see how things unfold.

I’ll be updating this post as appropriate …
UPDATE: Ian Rapoport is still hearing that there’s nothing doing:
An update on the #Packers that’s not really an update: Green Bay hasn’t engaged at all despite a few teams calling about trading for Aaron Rodgers. The #Packers have no plans to trade him. So, nothing has changed.
