News that Chicago could be fully open on my birthday had me thinking about the best way to celebrate what could be a glorious occasion. Only 57 days left to iron out those details.
• I thought Daniel Jeremiah was excellent with his NFL analysis over the weekend. And when it came to the Bears, Jeremiah was nails. The specific moment that caught my attention was when he made note that there was no more exciting offense in the NFL than the one in Kansas City, and there wasn’t a more boring one than the one in Chicago. That, at their core, they’re the same system doesn’t make sense. Well, that is until you consider the chasm between the quarterbacks. And while Justin Fields has a long way to go, there’s a feeling of hope in Chicago that I’ve never felt before:

• It’s one thing for me to be excited about the Fields pick. But when the buzz carries over to the likes of analysts like Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks, and they have proof in the tape that there is reason to be geeked up about the pick, it takes the vibe to another level. There is so much I love about the two-minute clip above. But I think the stuff I love the most is how they show how Fields’ skills can translate to the next level. Hype videos and highlight complications are great. But putting analysis behind the clips has me feeling some type of way.
• I’m also feeling the comparison to Fields using pre-Draft slights as fuel the same way Michael Jordan did for every little thing he perceived to be against him. The combination of talent and motivation can be ore powerful than one might otherwise expect.
• Heck, Fields is already bringing the best out of people:
MEDIA COLUMN: ESPN/ABC had 510 player highlight packages ready to go. The NFL Network dropped Randy Savage references. And both networks said they were at their best for the @ChicagoBears pick of @justnfields.

• And he is already putting in that work:

• I’m far from a fitness expert. But I am fascinated with modern training techniques. Who came up with these training plans? Why? How? What was the inspiration? Where’s ESPN at with the 30-for-30 on this?
• Some more fun Fields stuff to watch:

• Damiere Byrd, the Bears’ newest receiver, has some juice:

• It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Vic Fangio’s team checked in on some old friends:
Veteran OT Bobby Massie also scheduled to meet with the Broncos for their right tackle opening, per source. Nine-year vet released by Bears this offseason. So, Dennis Kelly and Massie among those visiting Denver.

Broncos have called around inquiring about right tackles. Charles Leno, just cut by Bears, and Demar Dotson are among the available. #9Sports

• ESPN’s Nick Wagoner reports Jimmy Garoppolo is ready to lend a helping hand in Trey Lance’s development:
“It’s kind of coming full circle,” Garoppolo said. “You go through this NFL career and you start as a young guy coming in. Tom kind of showed me the ropes. The competition between us was awesome. It really made me grow as a rookie and as a young player. So, that’s kind of what me and Trey, we’ll mold our relationship into that. But it will happen naturally. It’s one of those things you can’t force anything. Just let it come as it may.”
• Don’t expect (1) for Jimmy G to go anywhere any time soon or (2) for him to simply hand over his job. But Garoppolo’s acceptance of the circle of a football life is heady, mature, and suggests he knows what the deal is.
• I was wondering why Angel Hernandez was trending on Twitter last night:
