Well, the jokes won’t be stopping any time soon, as it sounds like Tim Tebow will actually get a shot to return to the NFL. He’s coming back from an attempt to play pro baseball, and he’ll be working as a tight end, where he might’ve had success if he’d switched a decade ago.
As previously rumored, new Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer is hooking his old college friend up:
Tim Tebow is 33, hasn’t played in a regular-season NFL game in nine years and is changing positions. He’s a long shot to make the team. But if anyone can find a role for him, it’s Urban Meyer, who molded Tebow into a Heisman winner and two-time national champ at Florida. https://t.co/9hFH0xPAru

Being that the Jaguars might be in for a transition year anyway, the “distraction” risks are much lower. And, given his physical ability, you never know – maybe Tebow comes in and is actually useful for a package of plays each week. It would certainly make for a wild story if he can actually stick.
And in the meantime, folks get to continue to make their jokes – Trevor Lawrence reaching the NFL and being told Tebow is his number one read on each drop back or some such thing. I have to workshop it a bit.
