If you’ll recall, there was chatter on the periphery discussing the idea of Tom Brady joining the Bears last offseason.
Chicago’s football team was reportedly on Brady’s short-list of finalists before signing with the Buccaneers. And the Bears even made an offer. But in a clip that’s making its way around the web, Brady refers to a team that had interest, but bowed out and had Brady feeling some type of way:
“One of the teams, they weren’t interested at the very end. I was thinking, ‘You’re sticking with that motherf–ker?’”@TomBrady kept receipts on his free agency 🤐 @brgridiron#TheShopHBO premieres Friday at 9:30pm on @hbomax pic.twitter.com/lDW8ywrLLP

The idea of Tom Brady referring to Mitchell Trubisky as “that mother-blanker” is enough to have me hootin’ and hollerin’. But, to be clear, I’m not sure Brady is talking about the Bears here.
Because if signing Brady would be a clear sign they weren’t sticking with that motherf***** Trubisky. And based on Matt Nagy’s actions last year, I think he would’ve been willing to risk it all to bring Brady to the Bears. I mean, this is the same coach who yanked Trubisky at the first sign of wackiness after a bad half against the Falcons. Again, Trubisky was benched for Nick Foles. So I can’t see the Bears showing interest, but ultimately saying “thanks, but no thanks” because of a guy whose time was running short in Chicago anyway.
But who else could Brady have been talking about?
Maybe we’ll find out Friday on HBO’s The Shop…
