Bears fans have known about Allen Robinson’s excellence for years now. Because after coming over from the Jaguars, Robinson has two 1,000-yard seasons and a pair of 90+ catch campaigns, all while hauling in throws from Mitchell Trubisky, Chase Daniel, and Nick Foles. It takes some real skill to pull that off.
And yet, I don’t think Robinson has received the type of love nationally he deserves.
But I think that’s about to change:

Allen Robinson II checks in at No. 34 on Pro Football Focus’ list of the NFL’s 50 best players right now. And why wouldn’t he be?
Robinson’s route-running is silky smooth:

A high school coach I covered at a previous stop once told me hard workers will beat a team with more talent if talented players aren’t working hard. And when I watch Robinson play, I see a player who is hard-working and talented. Not only is it the best of both worlds, it also shows itself on game tape and in the box score. No wonder Robinson was PFF’s fifth-highest-graded receiver last year.
Now, if only the Bears saw this and were able to come to a deal that keeps Robinson in Chicago to catch passes from Justin Fields, who might be the most talented quarterback he’ll have played with as a pro. They’ve got 22 days to figure it out.
