At this time last year, Eddie Goldman was opting out of playing, doing so while citing concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now, Goldman finds himself out of action and on the Reserve/COVID-19 List:

Goldman has discussed the challenges of not playing last year, talking about how he missed his teammates and the game. But now, Goldman is facing a new challenge by landing on the COVID list. In order for Goldman to clear protocol, he’ll need to come through with two negative tests at least 24 hours apart (if he is vaccinated). However, if he hasn’t gotten the vaccine, he must isolate for five days (even if he tests negative).
It stinks when a player has to hit the sidelines due to the COVID-19 list. And it stings that much more when you’re a player who is as important as Goldman is to this defense. Because while Chicago’s defensive line rotation held it down without Goldman last year, having him around makes things that much easier for his teammates.
We’ll keep an eye on Goldman’s situation and sure as updates become available.
