Good news on the injury front has been few and far between for the Bears during training camp.
But this update will turn a Bears fan’s frown upside down:
Coach Nagy announced that Eddie Jackson will be activated off the non-football injury list & begin practicing today.

Chicago’s football team is getting safety Eddie Jackson back in the fold starting TODAY! Nothing like getting a two-time Pro Bowl safety back on a defense that has been buzzing throughout training camp.
Jackson began training camp on the Non-Football Injury List because of troublesome hamstring issue that came up during his offseason workouts. But after missing the first 10 practices of camp, Jackson is clear to get the green light and give it a full-go with his teammates. Jackson’s return will be welcome with open arms to a secondary that has seen Tashaun Gipson Sr. miss time with a groin injury.
Unfortunately, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows on the injury report this morning. Brad Biggs (Tribune) tweets offensive tackle Teven Jenkins remains out with a back injury. Zack Pearson (Bear Report) chimes in to add that linebacker Danny Trevathan (knee soreness) and Marquise Goodwin (foot) aren’t practicing today. Meanwhile, nose tackle Eddie Goldman remains on the Reserve/COVID-19 list (Adam Hoge).
There are still 33 days until the Bears take the field to kick off the regular season. So it isn’t as if there is no time to get healthy. It’s just that missing out on training camp (and possibly preseason) reps won’t make it any easier to evaluate the team’s many position battles that need to be sorted out before Week 1.
