There’s no hiding from the Bears’ offensive line problems. And finally, the team went through with a signing to address concerns up front.
A nine-time Pro Bowl tackle is on his way to Chicago:

The Bears are signing Jason Peters to a free agent contract. At 39, Peters becomes Chicago’s elder statesman among linemen. And with nine Pro Bowl appearances under his belt, Peters becomes the most accomplished blocker, too.
This feels like a pretty big deal. Rookie second-round pick Teven Jenkins hasn’t been a participant in practice since training camp began. And even though we’re only one game into the preseason, we didn’t need to see much more to know the Bears were in need of help. Better late than never, right?
We’ll have more on the signing later. For now, we’ll enjoy an exhibition win and the health of QB1-of-the-future Justin Fields.
