Like an overstated insurance slogan, the Bears were in good hands when No. 12 was on the field.
Truer words have never been spoken by an off-screen narrator. And when it comes to Chicago Bears receiver Allen Robinson II, his placement on NFL Network’s top-100 list would be higher if the quarterbacks throwing to him in recent years were as sharp or as accurate.
Nevertheless, Robinson checks in at No. 87:

After hauling in 102 catches, putting up 1,250 receiving yards, and scoring six touchdowns, Robinson makes the NFL Top 100 list for a second consecutive year. Robinson moves up six spots after ranking 93rd last year, which is an incremental climb — even if I think he should check in higher on the list.
Robinson is coming off his best season with the Bears. Because in addition to those impressive stats, Robinson is coming off a season in which he was PFF’s fifth-highest-graded receiver. Only Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, AJ Brown, and Stefan Diggs were better by Pro Football Focus’ grading scale. Talk about keeping good company! Back in June, PFF put Robinson at No. 34 on its list of Top-50 players right now. Do you see why I still can’t shake the feeling that Robinson is being underrated by the panel who puts the NFL Network’s list together?
It is too late to sway any judges’ opinions. But I would encourage folks to check the tape closer next time around before putting Robinson in the bottom half of a top-100 list:
