Justin Fields is Taking Over as the Chicago Bears’ Starting Quarterback Moving Forward

Moving forward, QB1 in Chicago wears No. 1.

Justin Fields is The Man at quarterback for the Chicago Bears:

There it is. That’s it. Justin Fields is the dude. The day has come and there’s no turning back. What a momentous occasion.

I’m not saying that Bears Twitter and the football community bullied Nagy into the decision. But I won’t not say it. Peer pressure works. From local voices, to national thought-leaders, to take-artists. Everyone was calling for it, and now it’s happening. Sure, it helps when the coach admits that Fields’ talent makes his job easier. But whatever it takes. Right?

For what it’s worth, Andy Dalton is healthy. And that is good news for himself, as well as the Bears moving forward. He’ll even be a full participant in practice as he comes off his knee injury, per Nagy. But Fields will be the starter. That means a full set of practice reps with the No. 1 offense. It also means no more random insertion of Fields for a play, only to take him out. No more questioning why, when, and where it will be Fields’ time. And no more mind games with opposing coaches. It’s Fields’ time. No caveats.

We’ll have more as this continues to develop. But in the meantime, let it all sink in. The Justin Fields Era is underway and beginning in earnest Sunday in Las Vegas. Giddy up!
