While watching the Bears game at Nisei Lounge with Luis yesterday, he asked me who I would replace Matt Nagy with if the Bears went in that direction this offseason. Without hesitation, my answer was Brian Daboll.
As the offensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills, Dabol has the Bills leading the NFL in points per game (34.4) and ranked inside the top-10 in total yards per game (410.4 – 6th), passing yards per game (270 – 10th), and rushing yards per game (140.4 – 5th). He’s also played a significant role in helping Josh Allen reach his draft day potential during his time in Buffalo, something Matt Nagy failed to do with Mitch Trubisky and looks like he’s struggling to do with Justin Fields.
If Chicago makes a change at the head coaching position this offseason, Daboll should be a favorite for the job. You’ll get to see Daboll’s offense in action tonight when Josh Allen and the red-hot Buffalo Bills will visit the Titans in Nashville to cap off Week 6 of the NFL season tonight at Nissan Stadium.
Speaking of Bill-Titans, it’s almost impossible not to think about this play when you think of these two teams facing off.
Whenever these two matchup, three words come to mind.
