UPDATE: Justin Fields won’t be returning to this game:
#Bears injury update:
QB Justin Fields (ribs) downgraded to OUT.— Chicago Bears (@BearsPR) November 21, 2021
Our original post is as follows.
After a 3rd-and-long play that ultimately was short of the first down marker, Bears QB Justin Fields was a little slow to get up, and ultimately went into the blue medical tent on the sideline.
Since then, the situation hasn’t gotten any better:
Justin Fields is walking to the locker room.

As The Athletic’s Adam Jahns points out, Fields walked into the locker room. And as the CBS broadcast with Jim Nantz and Tony Romo during the broadcast, leaving the medical tent to go to the locker room suggests possible testing for something could be going on. There was nothing specific at the outset. Nevertheless, it all leaves me with an unsettling feeling. It’s never good to see your team’s future go from the playing field, to the sideline, and to the locker room.
Andy Dalton, who was seen warming up on the sideline during the Ravens’ offensive drive, is set to come in.
More to come…
