Week 13 Pre-Gamin’: BEARS vs. CARDINALS (Noon CT) Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

Chicago Bears

Happy Teven Jenkins Day! to those who observe.

The Bears haven’t publicly outlined a plan on how they’ll deploy Jenkins, their 2021 second-round pick whom they hope becomes an anchor at left tackle. But that Jenkins is (1) on the 53-man roster, (2) active, and (3) presumably available is significant. Jenkins hasn’t played a meaningful football snap since 2020, so pump the brakes on your short-term expectations. But it is plausible to have Jenkins help out in some way today, which feels like a win. Put him on some special teams snaps in a blocking capacity. Throw him into heavy formations as an eligible lineman. Line him up at fullback. Get creative. It’s all about development at this point.

Well, development … and surviving a crummy weather day at Soldier Field.

Sure, both teams have to play through the muck. But a home game in 36-degree weather with 100 percent chance of showers at kickoff against a warm-weather dome team makes for opportune conditions for an upset. Just sayin’…
