In his first year as the Chicago Bears defensive coordinator this season, Sean Desai did an excellent job with what he had to work with. Still, with the Bears undergoing a total overhaul of the front office and coaching staff, Desai is not sticking around, according to Adam Jahns.
Sean Desai, the former Bears defensive coordinator, is now a free agent. He’s already been linked to multiple teams.
He started his NFL career as a quality control coach on Marc Trestman’s staff and rose to defensive coordinator. An impressive rise to say the least.

Desai, 38, just finished his first season as the defensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears but has been with the team since the Marc Trestman era (he first served as a quality control assistant in 2013, when former general manager Phil Emry was still overseeing the football operations in Chicago).
Desai stuck around when John Fox took over and worked with defensive backs, linebackers, and special teams before being promoted to the safeties coach under Matt Nagy and Vic Fangio. He was eventually promoted to defensive coordinator this past season after the team dismissed former defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano.
I thought that Desai might be a candidate to stick around with the Bears through yet another coaching staff, but Matt Eberflus is reportedly looking to bring Alan Williams, his safeties coach in Indianapolis, to Chicago to run his defense.

I have a feeling that Desai won’t be out of work for long, though.
The Seattle Seahawks reportedly requested permission to interview Desai last month, and Adam Jahns reported today that Desai has been linked to “multiple teams.”
