I don’t know if it’ll help his QB1 stock or not, but Justin Fields can really crush a baseball, it turns out.
The Chicago Bears are at Wrigley Field today enjoying the facilities for a little team-building, and during the day, running back Khalil Herbert grabbed video of the young Bears quarterback sending one out of Wrigley:

And new Bears wide receiver Velus Jones Jr. got Fields hitting another one:

I’m just going to assume that he hit another seven or eighteen off camera. Power upon power upon power.
If you’ve ever taken swings on a big league field – heck, almost anywhere – you know how hard it is to actually hit a ball that far. Fields is a big, strong dude, yes, but it takes a lot more than that to get the contact and trajectory right. This is really impressive stuff, even for a guy who did play baseball in high school (and was good enough that he almost played at Ohio State, too).
Like I said, it probbbbbbably won’t help him master the new offense or succeed with a receiving corps and offensive line full of questions. BUT IT MIGHT! WHAT IF?!?!?
Also, he available to take some pinch-hitting opportunities for the Cubs?
UPDATE: Turns out it was a whole competition for the Bears, which was won by Cole Kmet:
