Former Indianapolis Colts player Matt Adams followed his defensive coordinator to his new gig as the head coach of the Chicago Bears, but I wonder how Matt Eberflus is feeling about his former/current player this morning.
Per TMZ, new Bears linebacker Matt Adams has been arrested on two gun-related charges:
Per the report, Adams was arrested on misdemeanor charges stemming from a gun for which he had a permit – but not from Illinois – and possessing “a high capacity magazine and metal piercing bullets.” I wonder if Adams was not aware of the differences in the laws in Illinois (which would not be a successful defense, mind you). You can see the full details in the TMZ report.
We’ll see if Adams, Eberflus, Ryan Poles, or the Bears have comment on the incident. Adams, 26, was brought in back in April as a depth linebacker and likely special teams contributor.
This arrest is the second legal incident for a freshly-signed Chicago Bear, with wide receiver Byron Pringle arrested for a car-related run-in earlier this offseason.
