Parents play a huge role in their kid’s athletic and extracurricular careers. My parents spent many a day at the ballfields raising six kids, and now I spend much of my free time watching my kids play baseball, basketball, and softball.
Still, Moms generally take on the brunt of the parental duties accompanying a youth athlete. Travel to and from games, practices, and tournaments. Uniform and equipment washing and upkeep. Snacks and hydration. The list goes on and on.
So, wouldn’t it be cool if the moms had a night that was theirs? Washington Community High School in Washington, IL (outside of Peoria) made that happen for the mothers of their football players last week, allowing the moms to suit up and tackle their kids during a preseason football practice!
The video of the moms in action went viral on TikTok last week and even made it onto the local CBS news broadcast.
