OH MY: Soldier Field is Filled With Water Ahead of Kick Off Against the 49ers

Chicago Bears

You’ve surely seen the question, “what about ‘Bear Weather” asked by some traditionalists and die-hards regarding the potential of a new domed stadium in Arlington Heights. Well, if you’re one of those people, Mother Nature is smiling down on you this afternoon. It’s going to be wet and wild at Soldier Field today.

Sun-Times beat reporter Jason Lieser and several others tweeted videos of standing water collecting all over the field as the 49ers warm up.

Lieser also shared a photo of some deep puddles at midfield with about an hour until kickoff between the Bears and Niners:

If wet and messy games are your thing, you’re in for a treat. Not sure the players agree, and this is likely just another reminder of why the Bears (and every NFL team) are moving towards climate-controlled indoor venues.

Anyways, Bear Down!

P.S. They’re literally squeegee-ing the water off the field right now! 😂
