Jackson State’s head coach was the quintessential flashy football player when he was terrorizing opposing offenses and special teams units in the NFL. Deion Sanders was a human highlight reel, and he’s kept the same flare for the flash well into his post-playing career that has included broadcasting and now coaching.
So, it’s fitting that one of the flashiest catches you’ll see all season came from one of his guys at Jackson State. Shane ‘Hollywood’ Hooks made on of the sickest one-handed grabs you’ll see this afternoon.
Deion’s son, Shedur, led the way offensively, along with Sy’veon Wilkerson, for the Tigers in a lopsided 47-17 victory over Grambling. Sanders went 30-of-44 with 276 yards and a touchdown. Wilkerson led the Tigers with 15 carries for 85 yards and three catches for 28 yards.
Jackson State is off to a 3-0 start this season.
