The Bears were already short-handed in several areas of the game before this one got underway.
But things have unfortunately gone from bad to worse on the injury front:
The team announced that running back David Montgomery and receiver Byron Pringle are doubtful to return to Sunday’s game against the Texans. Montgomery is nursing knee and ankle injuries sustained while pass-blocking and getting rolled up on. I’m not sure when Pringle’s calf injury came about, but he had a quad issue during training camp. Seeing a calf injury flare up is tough to see given that Pringle just recently got through that quad problem.
Both players were injured during the first quarter of the game. So that they’re already being ruled as doubtful feels like a bad sign. But it is something for us to keep an eye on as we move along..
