The Chicago Bears will have to make some changes to their gameplan for the Miami Dolphins this weekend as it will now feature Bradley Chubb after Miami landed the former Broncos pass rusher in a trade that features at least a first-rounder heading back to Denver.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter has the details on another blockbuster trade in what is shaping up to be a rollercoaster of an afternoon around the NFL:
Miami is sending San Francisco’s first-rounder in the 2023 draft (acquired in the trade that allowed San Francisco to draft Trey Lance, No. 3 overall in 2021) along with a 2024 fourth-round pick and Chase Edmonds to Denver for the star pass rusher and a fifth-round pick. The Dolphins haven’t been shy in using draft capital to land big fish in trades. Because in addition to using a first-rounder to being the second of three they received from San Francisco ahead of the 2021 NFL Draft, we shall recall they also used one in the Tyreek Hill trade with Kansas City during the offseason. Turning first-round picks into Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb looks good. You’ll need all the help you can get if you’re a Dolphins team that plays in a division with Josh Allen and the Bills.
In the end, it’s a massive win for the Dolphins’ front office. And now the Bears have another element to prepare for this weekend.
