Karl A. Racine serves as the Attorney General of the District of Columbia. And Racine is about to take on quite the challenge with the latest civil suit sent from his office. Because it is a doozy.
Here are parts of a thread explaining why Mr. Racine is going after the Washington Commanders franchise, their owner Daniel Snyder, the NFL, and Commissioner Roger Goodell in a lawsuit for coverups in the investigation of the toxic work environment that has been a rampant problem for Washington’s football team’s organization:
It’s always something with Washington’s football organization. Sheesh.
Among the headlines associated with Washington football in 2022
- Ditching an offensive nickname,
- A head-scratching quarterback trade,
- Reports of the team engaging in potentially unlawful financial conduct,
- Owner Daniel Snyder getting subpoenaed, and other owners trying to push him out the door.
In the end, I’m not sure what will come of this. But PFT’s Mike Florio thinks the NFL can’t hide behind its usual tricks when a lawsuit comes its way. And that has me curious to see what is coming down the pipeline.
