It seems like the Bears offensive line will reshuffle a bit this week with the good news out of Halas Hall today that offensive lineman Teven Jenkins (neck) was a full participant in practice this afternoon.
Jenkins missed the Bears Week 16 loss to Buffalo this past weekend while he dealt with a neck injury suffered in the previous week’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Additionally, along the offensive line, Sterling Weatherford (illness) and Cody Whitehair (knee) were limited in today’s practice, putting their availability for this week’s game up in the air.
In the not-so-good news department, Chase Claypool (knee) and Equanimeous St. Brown (concussion) were again non-participants in practice. Both Claypool and St. Brown missed last week’s game against the Bills and, at this point, stand to miss this week’s contest with the Lions as well.
Wide receiver Dante Pettis, who caught a touchdown pass from Justin Fields on Saturday, popped up on the injury report after he was limited in practice with an ankle injury.
Can you imagine a world where Justin Fields’ top wide receivers for Sunday’s game against the Lions are Byron Pringle, N’Keal Harry, and Velus Jones Jr.? That might be the case if Pettis’ ankle doesn’t heal up. Which wouldn’t be terrible because I would love to see more run for VJJ in the receiving game.
