Justin Fields has his share of detractors. And from the end of the regular season until the moment the D.J. Moore trade went down, they were quite vocal. Not only were they vocal, they were obnoxious, too. Hot takes from talking heads can do a number on the eyes. Thankfully, that stuff is in our rear-view mirror.
Looking ahead, I’ve got a good feeling about the Bears moving forward. Much of those positive vibes are rooted in Chicago’s football team having Fields under center. And as it turns out, we’re not alone in feeling good about the Bears’ future with Fields slinging it as QB1. In fact, a handful of the Bears’ free agent signings were citing Fields as a reason they are coming to Chicago in the first place.
The new guys are gushing about the Bears’ quarterback! What a time to be alive:
The answer to a question asking if Fields’ presence played a role in a player signing with the Bears having the answer “abso-f******-lutely” is music to my ears. You just love to hear it. Absolutely wonderful. We only recently began getting used to hearing outsiders speak kindly of a Bears QB. And, frankly, this is something I can get used to. We began hearing opponents say nice things about Fields last year. But hearing the newest Bears show some love for QB1 has me willing to run through a wall in the middle of March.
Now, how about signing more offensive linemen who feel the same way? Or maybe some defensive linemen? I’m open to any and all additions of players who (1) are good at football and (2) want to play for Justin Skyler Fields.
