LOL: Andy Reid Doesn’t Even Know Who Jordan Love Is
Even though the Packers haven’t officially sent Aaron Rodgers to the Jets just yet, we’re already looking forward to the Jordan Love era in Green Bay. And can you blame us?
Do you remember Love’s first start in the pros? It came in Week 9 of the 2021 season against the Chiefs. In case you missed it, here was his stat line from the Packers loss:
- 19/34 (55.9% completion pct.)
- 190 yards (5.6 yards/attempt)
- 1 TD, 1 INT
- 69.5 passer rating
That kind of showing might’ve led Green Bay to hold on to Rodgers for another year. And it certainly didn’t register with Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid.
Reid was asked about Love during press availability at league meetings on Monday. His response was exactly what you’d expect from someone talking about an opponent who didn’t even register on his radar:
There are some big, Mariah Carey I don’t know her vibes emanating from that video. Sheesh!
Now contrast that with opponents gushing over things Justin Fields was doing while they were watching from afar. Heck, some of those guys even came to Chicago to play with Fields. The Bears have a quarterback players want to rock with. Meanwhile, the Packers have a quarterback who the QB-obsessed best coach in football doesn’t even remember. What a time to be alive.
