I had a hunch that Bears GM Ryan Poles was going to engineer another trade.
And sometimes, hunches pay off.
It’s a familiar trade partner for the Bears, who are swapping picks with the Philadelphia Eagles:
It didn’t take much for the Eagles to move up one pick. But the Bears snagging another Day 3 pick in the process just to move one spot down the board is a nice consolation prize. I still wish they would’ve gotten more, but I’ll unpack that later.
It’ll be interesting to see who the Eagles target. The thinking had been they were wanting Texas RB Bijan Robinson. However, he just went off the board to the Falcons. Maybe it’ll be Jalen Carter. Perhaps Peter Skoronski makes sense for Philly. Soon, it’ll be the Bears on the clock. And I can’t wait to see who it is.
