In case you missed it last night, Darnell Wright is officially a Chicago Bear. After weeks of zigging and zagging on various opinions of who the Bears might take, Ryan Poles landed on seemingly the tackle he wanted all along — Darnell Wright.
One of the coolest parts about the NFL Draft that we get every year is seeing the moment these players getting drafted officially accomplish their dream of playing in the NFL. Sometimes there are tears, sometimes there’s jumping around, and sometimes like in the case of Wright, there’s shock. He knew he would be picked last night. But when that moment finally happens and he’s officially an NFL player, and all that hard work over the last however-many years has finally, officially paid off, it’s got to be one of the greatest feelings an athlete can have.
I love the pick, and I can’t wait to see what he’s got in mini-camp and training camp to come this off-season. So congrats to Darnell Wright!
Between Luis, Patrick, and myself we’ll have all the draft coverage you need throughout the weekend right so make sure you’re following @BN_Bears and @BN_Touchdown on Twitter.
