WATCH: Bears 7th Round Pick Travis Bell Had a Unique Pre-Draft Workout
Down the stretch we come!
We’ve hit the nitty gritty spot of the NFL Draft where the names become more obscure. For some, that means it is time to flip off the draft coverage. But for draft nerds like me, it nudges me toward trying to find something different about a prospect we’re not too familiar with by name. But in due time, we’ll get to know defensive tackle Travis Bell. The Chicago Bears took Bell with the first of their two (scheduled) seventh-round picks in the 2023 NFL Draft.
And in doing so, the Bears drafted a player who had a unique pre-draft workout:
One of the most fascinating things about modern football is that players prepare to improve themselves in so many ways. Prospects, rookies, veterans, and everyone in between finds new ways to gear up for football. Full disclosure: I’ve never seen anything like what is shown above. I’m sure there is a reason someone created this drill. And there is a reason Bell is using it. Just because I’m not privy to that information or in touch with workout routines doesn’t make it not effective. If anything, it makes it all the more interesting to follow.
