Vikings Reveal New Winter Warrior Jerseys — Which They’ll Debut vs. the Bears

A team in the NFC North is set to debut a new uniform this season.

Unfortunately, it is not the Chicago Bears.

The Minnesota Vikings dropped a video on Thursday morning revealing the eye-popping, fashion-forward new uniform look. Check it out:

I’ve spent parts of the offseason thinking about how weird it is going to be for Aaron Jones to rock a Minnesota uniform after starting his career with the Green Bay Packers. But now, I’m thinking about former Bears such as N’Keal Harry, Robert Tonyan, Jonathan Bullard, and Andrew DePaola wearing those jerseys. Because that’s just where my brain goes on a Thursday. But I digress.

It has been a busy week for the Vikes, who began the week making headlines by handing wide receiver Justin Jefferson a colossal extension that made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in football. And now, this? C’mon, Vikings. Get outta here!

Minnesota Vikings new “winter warrior” jerseys is a head-turning look

At first, I was annoyed by the Minnesota Vikings all-white everything look. But mostly because if any team in the NFC North was going to pull this off, it should’ve been the Bears. And now, I’m irked about them because the Vikings will debut their new look against Chicago’s football team on Monday Night Football later this year.

ESPN’s Kevin Seifert has the scoop:

Mark your calendars for Week 15 and December 16 when the Bears and Vikings square off on Monday Night Football. As an an added bonus, that game is set to be telecast on ABC. So not only will the ESPN audience get treated to the new look, a national audience that can watch via old school over-the-air channels can do so, too. Get out the bunny ears if necessary, my friends.

I’ll begrudgingly give the Vikings their props for pulling off this white-on-white get-up. Although, I do have beef with the idea of a team claiming to be “winter warriors” when they play in a dome. But that isn’t anything all too serious. And that might be due to a little bit of jealousy on my part because the Chicago Bears should’ve been planning a polar bear look all along. Sigh.

If it’s any consolation, the Vikings equipment manager who has the unenviable task of getting these whites sparkling will have the time of their lives trying to get all the grass stains out from J.J. McCarthy’s jersey after the likes of Montez Sweat and Austin Booker spend the better part of their Week 15 trip to Minnesota driving the quarterback into the turf.
