When it comes to the worst news possible the day after a victory, this ranks pretty high. According to Chicago Bears Head Coach Matt Eberflus, rookie wide receiver Rome Odunze will undergo an MRI on his knee today.
Eberflus was asked about the health of wide receivers DJ Moore and Keenan Allen. He provided the update on Odunze, saying that he was hurt during a blocking play. When asked about his level of concern for Odunze, Eberflus said he doesn’t have enough information on the injury yet to decide.
Odunze played 43 snaps on Sunday but was only targeted four times by Caleb Williams, and his only catch came on a pass that was batted into the air, and he went up and got to save a potential interception.
The good news is that Moore and Allen’s health is not a concern. The bad news is that Rome Odunze is hurt to the extent that the team has an MRI scheduled for him.
Here’s a look at Rome Odunze’s last play, where he limped off the field late in the fourth quarter on Sunday:
This is a developing story; we will provide updates when they become available.
