Getting good news on the injury front is a whale of a way to get your Sunday Funday started.
And if you’re a Chicago Bears fan, your first glance at the list of inactive players will likely bring a smile to your face because of who *ISN’T* on it:
For instance, Bears defensive tackle Andrew Billings is not on Sunday’s list of inactives. Billings, who missed time this week during practice because of a knee injury, is good to go for today’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Billings, who is a top 30 interior defensive lineman according to the Pro Football Focus grading scale, isn’t expected to be on a limited snap count. Giddy up!
Wide receiver Keenan Allen is also *NOT* on today’s inactive list. Allen has missed each of the last two Bears games because of a problematic heel injury. But he practiced with limitations on Wednesday and Thursday before putting together a full practice on Friday. Huzzah! Having a full complement of pass catchers must be music to the ears of rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. Chicago’s QB1 is coming off setting a career-best in passing yards (363) while also posting his first two-TD passing game. More, please.
Safety Kevin Byard III is active, too. Byard was sidelined during the practice week because of an injury. But the good news is that he is ready to go for game day. Let’s ride!
Chicago Bears vs. Los Angeles Rams โ Week 4 Inactives
Here’s who isn’t playing for the Bears today, per the team’s announcement:
- Wide receiver/running back Velus Jones Jr.
- Fullback Khari Blasingame
- Defensive back Terell Smith
- Offensive lineman Bill Murray
- Defensive lineman Zacch Pickens
- Defensive lineman Dominique Robinson
Fullback Khari Blasingame is a surprising name among the inactives for today’s game. Blasingame has sat the last two games with a variety of injuries but practiced this week. I thought that maybe having a fullback in action would help spark Chicago’s offense. Perhaps he’ll be back in the lineup next week.
We’ll have more for you in pre-gamin’ before kickoff.
