The Chicago Bears are preparing for their Week 9 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. In preparation, they held a walk-through practice on Wednesday, so their first injury report of the week is an estimation. However, it is still concerning that Montez Sweat has joined the list and was listed as a non-participant.
In his return to D.C., Sweat made four tackles (three solo), including one sack and two tackles for losses, before exiting with a shin injury. He was noticeably absent for the Commanders’ Hail Mary attempt on the game’s final play.
Again, this was a walk-through, and the practice report is an estimation, but it’s concerning that Sweat is on the report.
Montez Sweat Joins Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker on the Bears Week 9 Injury Report
Sweat joins teammates Kyler Gordon (hamstring) and Jaquan Brisker (concussion) on the injury report. Gordon and Brisker were both listed as non-participants on Wednesday’s report.
Gordon missed Chicago’s Week 8 matchup with the Commanders after suffering a hamstring injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 13. Brisker has been sidelined since a concussion against the Carolina Panthers on October 6.
Rookie offensive lineman Kiran Amegadjie (calf) and left tackle Braxton Jones (knee) were also listed as non-participants today. Both Amegadjie and Jones suffered those injuries on Sunday against Washington.
Teven Jenkins (knee) was listed as a limited participant, as was offensive lineman Ryan Bates (shoulder). Larry Borom (ankle) was listed as a full participant. Borom and Bates were both designated to return from IR.
