My friend Ryne (a fellow Bears fan) is tired of his Spotify Wrapped looking the same every December, so he wants your suggestions to can make a massive playlist. Let’s help him out.
- I didn’t think this needed to be a post because I assumed that we, as a general fandom, were smarter than to believe that George McCaskey was spouting off on Twitter. But I was wrong. Chicago Bears Chairman George McCaskey is not using The Bird App. And to drive that point home, Twitter dumped the fake McCaskey account. Good riddance.
- I do my best not to come off as preach-y on here because that isn’t my style and I don’t ever want it to be. But please (I am asking in the kindest voice I can work up) be wiser in sharing and re-sharing what you see online. It is OK to stop, take a breath, assess what is real, and consider if it is worth re-sharing. It is often the case that something isn’t true when your first instinct is to ask is this too good to be true? I like to think Bears fans are smarter than to fall for the okayie-doke. Prove me right.

- It has been one week since Matt Eberflus’ firing and removal as the team’s head coach. How do you feel about that one week later? Are you relieved that it is over? Excited about the coaching search that is on the horizon? Nervous? I’ll share one piece of advice that a friend recently gave me: “Feel your feelings.” If you are relieved knowing that you don’t have to refresh this page because you don’t want to miss a coach firing report, then feel that. Nervousness is a natural feeling. Geeked up about the coaching search? Well, then it is a good thing we have already started our coach profiles:

- If you are in the “feeling relieved” camp, just know that you are not alone. Tight end Cole Kmet feels it, too. “Yeah, I will say that — I think there is a little bit of an exhale to it,” Kmet said, via Sun-Times. “The exhale for me happened [Wednesday], just finally moving on from it when you get on the grass and practice. For me, it always signifies moving on to the next week.”
- It is important to let go of things that you have moved on from that weren’t right for you is a thing I have learned in the two years since I began seeing a therapist. And I feel as if that concept can be applied to life as a Bears fan.
- Some love for wide receiver Keenan Allen, who Interim Offensive Coordinator Chris Beatty says (via Marquee’s Bears coverage) is the smartest player he has ever seen:
“Keenan’s really the coach … Keenan’s the smartest player I’ve ever seen.”

- A fun nugget from CHGO’s Adam Hoge on Twitter/X, who notes that Beatty will have a bigger role in game management and clock management as he aids Thomas Brown as he begins his maiden voyage as interim head coach. I hate that it took Matt Eberflus’ firing to give guys like Brown and Beatty a chance. But I love seeing fresh faces get opportunities to do new things. Here’s to making the most of those opportunities, gents.
