Indiana Legislature to Consider Gambling Expansion
Rep. Ethan Manning plans to introduce a bill that would legalize online casinos and lotteries in the state of Indiana. The bill would also include a provision to regulate lottery couriers in Indiana. The state doesn’t have any lottery couriers at the moment but if they wanted to enter Indiana they would have to apply for a license.
The bill, HB1432, is set to have its first reading later this month on January 21.
Indiana Gaming Commission Would Oversee Online Casino
Online casinos would fall into the hands of the Indiana Gaming Commission which also regulates sports betting. The IGC would be in charge of regulations, licensees, and more if the bill passed. There would be a fee of $500,000 upfront and each license would be eligible for up to three skins.
Indiana Lottery Commission would Get Online Lottery
When it comes to the online lottery, the Indiana Lottery Commission would take control of the regulations and licenses. This would see the expansion of popular draw games and instant games online.
