No Missouri Sports Betting by Super Bowl
Sorry fans of the Kansas City Chiefs, even though sports betting was passed back in November, it will not be up and running by the Super Bowl. This means Missouri sports bettors will have to wait for the NFL season to make their first bets as the Missouri Gaming Commission expects a launch this summer.
The state has to launch online sports betting by December to comply with the bill that was passed. Missouri bettors can most likely expect a launch by football season and will be able to wager on the NFL, college football, and more this fall.

MGC Looking at Potential Summer Launch
As of now, the Missouri Gaming Commission is looking at a potential launch date in mid-summer for online sports betting. There hasn’t been an official launch date announced as the MGC works through regulations, sports betting licenses, and more early this year.
Launch Misses 2025 March Madness, Masters, and More
With a potential summer launch this year, Missouri sports betting will miss out on some major events in the spring of 2025. These include the NCAA basketball tournament, the Masters, and early MLB action. March Madness is one of the biggest betting times of the year so Missouri bettors will have to wait until the 2026 tournament to bet on the games legally.
Gambling Revenue Will be Taxed 10%
One thing we do know is that sportsbooks in the state will be hit with a 10% tax on sports betting revenue. The state expects to bring in about $29 million in tax revenue a year. Figuring out taxes has been one of the hot topics for each state launch with certain states increasing their tax thresholds after going live including New York and Illinois.
