There’s been no shortage of Chicago Cub appearances around the country (from SNL in New York to Disney World in Florida), but a few of them stuck around Chicago and did some hometown celebrating of their own.
Specifically, Tom Ricketts, Crane Kenney, Colin Faulkner, Jason Heyward, Mike Montgomery, Kyle Schwarber and David Ross (who came back from SNL) were invited down to the United Center to celebrate their historic World Series victory with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Check it out:
The Blackhawks, you might remember, have been a very good team over the past few years, winning the Stanley Cup on three separate occasions (2010, 2013, 2015) and contending every year in between. I’d love nothing more than for the Cubs to follow their lead, and, together with the Hawks, turn Chicago into a perpetual baseball and hockey championship town. I’m sure you all agree. (OK, sure, basketball and football, too.)
And hey, blue and red looks good out there:
