The Blackhawks Announce Their First Reverse Retro Game On Sunday
It’s finally here! The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Monday afternoon that they will debut their Adidas Hockey Reverse Retro uniforms on Sunday, February 28 against the Detroit Red Wings. The Blackhawks will also wear their Reverse Retro uniforms on March 28 against the Nashville Predators and on April 8 against the Dallas Stars.

We’ve seen a number of teams wearing their Reverse Retro uniforms already this season, including this weekend in the NHL Outdoor games at Lake Tahoe with the Colorado Avalanche, Vegas Golden Knights, Boston Bruins, and Philadelphia Flyers.
The Blackhawks’ Reverse Retro is inspired by the late-1940’s look the team donned with what were primarily white sweaters. The “Reverse” is taking the old design and putting the home black and red coloring to it.
They look…meh.
To me, there were better design options for a throwback sweater, and the logo debate continues with Chicago using a retro Indian head crest from the same 1940’s era. We’ll see how they look on the ice when the Blackhawks take on the Red Wings this coming Sunday.
