Looking ahead to the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, it appears that Team USA will be announcing Chicago Blackhawks President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Stan Bowman as general manager of the Olympic squad.

Bowman will be assisted by Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin, according to TSN’s Frank Seravalli.
As General Manager of the Chicago Blackhawks since July of 2009, Bowman has overseen the organization during their three modern-day Stanley Cup runs in 2010, 2013, and 2015. He has never been part of the US Olympic team’s management group, but was an assistant General Manager for Team North America in the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
Safe to say Blackhawks star Patrick Kane will be part of any Team USA 2022 roster, but maybe this opens the door for Alex DeBrincat to also be run the running for a 2022 Olympic roster spot.
The USA has never won an Olympic Gold Medal in Men’s Hockey when NHL players were allowed to play in the tournament. Team USA took home Silver Medals in 2002 and 2010, losing to Canada both times, and lost to Finland in the 2014 Bronze Medal game.
